Busy Busy BUSY!!!!

WOW! 3 blog posts in one night. That is pretty good.

Well life really has not slowed down. I guess I decided I am super woman and do too much sometimes. My cousin and I have started a business and we get together with a group of women once a month and have them either make a project, cards, or scrapbook pages. It has been a ton of fun, but at the same time I am exhausted some weeks. Here are some fun things that we have made the past few months.

Halloween box for either candy or a box of tissues

General, Fall, Thanks, Birthday, and Christmas cards

Cute flap that we put on it

If you are interested in coming we would LOVE to have you the more the merrier. So just let me know and I will get you info.

Then I made this fun wreath. I got the idea from the most talented Kami. She is so amazing. Find some fun ideas from her here.

I love how it turned out! Thanks for the idea Kami!

Then I also put together this Thanksgiving calendar. Every day in November Ryan and I have been putting down something we are thankful for. This really has helped us get into the spirit of Thanksgiving. It was a fun project and I am happy with how it turned out. I found it off of a blog that I ran across and loved it. So of course I had to do it! Again this lady has the cutest ideas. See her blog here.

Finished product

Well that is why I have not posted for a very long time. Between work, scouts, time with Ryan, the monthly home gatherings that my cousin and I do, and a little time to read I do not have much time to do anything else. However, life is good and I am happy. That is all that matters. Hopefully, I will be better at blogging. But I am not making promises quite yet!

Great Shopping

Look what I got for just $2.14!!!!! Can you tell I am very excited! I usually can not brag about my grocery shopping, but I did good this time! I LOVE good deals!

Visiting Ashley and Scott

So now that I am finally blogging again I have so much to catch up on. So I will be posting blogs hopefully more often until I am caught up. Back in September we went to Pennsylvannia and had such a fun time seeing everything back there and of course going to visit Ashley and Scott. Unfortunately, Scott was on an away rotation so we did not see him much.

We flew in to Philly and we stayed in Philly the first night (since we got in at about 11:30 at night). The next morning we went around historic Philladelphia and saw the Liberty Bell, Benjamin Franklin's bruial plot and much more. It is a fun little town and I am glad I finally got to see the Liberty Bell. That put a check mark next to something I have wanted to do for awhile. Then we drove to Hummelstown (the city that Ashley lives in). It is right next to Hershey and it is such a cute city! I love it there and I guess I can see why a part of them would love to stay there.

Liberty Bell

Cute sign in Hershey! Such a charming town!

The next day we went to Hershey Park. They have so fun rides and it was fun seeing the cute town of Hershey. Their lamp posts have Hershey Kisses on them. So cute! We went to Chocolate World right after and it honestly smelled like chocolate heaven there.

Hershey Park

Where Chocolate Ave meets Cocoa Ave
This was in Hershey Park, but all the streets are named after something to do with Chocolate.

Yummy!

The next day Ash had to go to work. So Ryan and I ventured to NYC. I have never been there and it has always been a dream to go there. So I was so very excited. Ryan did not like driving there. I don't blame him; it was a bit scary. We got a hotel there and stayed there two nights. We stayed in Times Square. It was so fun to see Times Square, walk down 5th Ave (I have wanted to do that since I was a little girl), walk in Central Park, see the view from the top of the Rockafeller Center, see the Statue of Liberty, go to Mary Poppins, see the Empire State Building, experience buying purses on Canal Street, riding on the subway, and visiting ground zero. Such a good time. Even though my feet hurt pretty bad from all the walking and it was very very very hot. The smell in the subway and over the opening in the streets I could do without as well. But other than that I LOVED it! Ryan was not much of a fan. He likes more relaxing trips not walking around all of NYC. We did have to squeze a lot in, but we did it and I am very happy.

Of course Times Square

Then we headed back to stay with Ash again. Ryan started not feeling to well the day we left NYC and got to Ash's. So Ash and I went to an Amish town called Intercourse. It was quite entertaining to be in a town with that name.

They do buggy rides, but we did not take one.

They have parking spots for buggys.

Kind of blurry, but this is a scooter with big wheels. Quite the invention
It was really pretty there. This is how a lot of Pennsylvania was. Cornfields all over. Love it!
The next day Ash got a migraine (booooo). So she stayed home and Ryan and I went to Gettysburg. That was such a cool experience. It is amazing to think that we were standing on a hill were many many many fallen soldiers once laid. Such a sad thing that happened there. I am so glad I got to go see and and learn more about it. I am not much of a history person, but when you are actually there it makes it more real. So I might just have to pick up a book or too on the battles that happened in Gettysburg. That night we went out with Scott and Ashley at a restaurant right there in Hersey/Hummelstown.

Then on Saturday Scott did not feel good....so once again someone got left behind. Ashley, Ryan and I went to Washington DC. I LOVED it there. There is so much to do there and I wish we would have had more time. We went up Washington Monument, the White House, Lincoln Memorial, WWII Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, the Holocaust Museum, the capitol building and only one of the Smithsonian buildings. We went and saw the first ladies dresses in the American History building. All of these buildings are free and so it would be so awesome to live there and have all these things to do for free. It was awesome to be there and I am so glad we were able to go.

We were there on September 11th. So the flags were all up only half way.

The next day we had to go home. I was so so so sad to leave. I was looking forward to sleeping in our own bed. (I am a bit like the princess in the Princess and the Pea. I really can only sleep in my own bed.) However, I did not want to leave Ash. It was so fun being with her and I love having her around. I just wish we did not live a country apart from each other. Fingers crossed one day they will come back!!
