Big Day

I am sorry! I have been so bad at posting what is going on. Our computer crashed and so we were out of a computer for a little while. I have a very smart husband that fixed it so now we have a computer again! YAY! We had a great Thanksgiving together. It was our first Thanksgiving as a married couple. We were trying to fit a lot of things in on one day so we only managed to get one picture. We went to my Grandma and Grandpa Steinfeldt's house first. We ate delicious food and played a game called Would you Rather? Then we headed out to Ryan's grandma's house. We ate pie and watched Get Smart there. Then we headed to the movie theater to watch Four Christmases. We went to that with my family and my cousins and aunt and uncle. It was really funny, but not a movie for kids! It was a fun and busy day.

This is the only picture we took of Thanksgiving

Also something big happened on the seventh. I do not know if many of you know, but my husband is a convert to the church. He converted when he was nineteen almost twenty. It was a big decision for him to make at that point in his life. He is the only member of his immediate family, however, his grandma and grandpa are members and he has two aunts, two uncles, and some cousins that are members. He went to church for a long time and then when he was twenty-one his mom passed away. That was a really dark time in his life, I am sure you can all imagine. He stopped going to church for awhile. Well about two years later he started going to church again. That is when he got his patriarchal blessing and the bishop started talking to him about getting the Melchizedek priesthood. He did not feel ready at that time and kept working towards it.

Well two Sundays ago he received the Melchizedek priesthood from my father. It was such a special day. I am so proud of him. I am so glad that I will have the priesthood in my home and that he will get to bless our future children and me whenever it is needed. He has came a long way. It was always in his heart to come to this point it just took a little bit. He just wanted to be completely ready, which I admire!

I love you Ryan with all my heart! I am so very proud of you and very happy for you! Thank you for being such a wonderful husband to me and taking care of me. I love you.

Reception

We were very blessed the day of our reception. The week before it there was rain and the week after it there was a TON of rain. So we were very lucky since it was outside. I loved the weather. We had a little mishap with the photos. My photographer did not know that she was supposed to be at the reception. So my brother took a lot of the pictures and my photographer was able to make it towards the end to get some more. It ended up working out OK, but a little stressful for my brother.

We had the reception in my parent's backyard. My mom and dad worked hard to make it perfect. They are so good at landscaping and gardening so it looked beautiful. I got a migraine the day of the reception so Ryan made me take it easy while everyone else got things ready. That was very hard for me. I ended up feeling OK by the time the reception started luckily.

I had the best bridesmaids in the world. These girls are the best best friends anyone could ask for. I just want to brag on them for a bit!

Tiff, my sister, is a very energetic person. We have our issues, but she is there to listen to me any day I need to talk. She understands a lot about me that not many people do. She was very selfless throughout the whole wedding experience. She helped a lot and was there if we needed her to pick anything up or do anything at all. I love her to death and I am glad I have a sister to be able to rely on.

Michelle has been a friend that every girl needs. We have known each other since high school and she is a good balance to me. She is always very calm and she thinks with her head. She is there to keep me thinking with my head too. She came out to the wedding in California and helped me so much. I have no idea how many times she went back to my hotel room to get something that I forgot. She also was able to come to my reception. I was so happy she was there to support me during this event. I love you Miss!

Chelsea is my cousin, but also a best friend. She is so helpful and caring. I have gone through a lot of crap in my life that I never asked for, but she was there every step of the way to be a good support. I do not know if I could have handled some of the days that I did without her. We are completely girls together and love the typical girl things (chick flicks, shopping, scrap booking, etc.) I am so glad that we are so close! Love you Chels!

I met Ashley at that U during one of the hardest semesters of my life! I was not only working, going to school, balancing church callings, and going through some pretty personal stuff. Most girls have "friends" that are fair weather and will walk away during tough times, but Ashley barely even knew me and she was there every step of the way. We completely GET each other. We have known each other a little over 2 years and I feel like we have known each other since birth. She lives in Pennsylvania and she came all the way to Utah for my reception. I can not explain to you how much that meant to me. Thanks Ash! I miss you!

Hilary is also my cousin, but someone I just can not get enough of. She always makes me smile and laugh. She hates to see people sad. I strive everyday to have qualities that Hilary has because they are one of a kind. She has also been there for me through thick and thin. I love her to death and am so happy that she is my cousin and I get to be around her for the rest of my life.

So I am done. I just do not get to tell them how much they each mean to me every day. I love them all. I am glad they were all a part of the best day of my life so far.

We had a great turn out at the reception. I was scared, because I was retarded and planned it the same day as Women's Conference. However, I felt loved because a lot of women came at the beginning so they could come see us. Here are some pictures from the reception.

Where Dreams Come True

Ryan and I went to the happiest place on earth for our honeymoon, Disneyland! We had so much fun. We went to Downtown Disney and shopped around the day after we were married. We ate dinner at the Rain Forest Cafe that night. The following day we went to Disneyland. It was so much fun. I still love the characters and I am 23! It was really nice in the mornings because lines were really short. They had everything decorated for Halloween. The Haunted Mansion was decorated like the Nightmare Before Christmas. It was really cool. We stayed till the park closed that night and watched the parade.
The following day we started in California Adventure. They have a lot of fun rides and shows to watch. We went on a new Toy Story ride that is 3D. It was a lot of fun. Then after we got off we realized that we did not have our camera. It had fallen out of Ryan's pocket during the ride. So we rushed back to find out that no one had turned it in. So we stood by where people come out of the ride hoping to find someone carrying it. No such luck. We tried asking the people at the beginning of the ride if anyone had seen it and still no luck. So we decided to go to lunch. Our spirits were down, because all of our pictures were on there! We were going to try one last time and if still no one turned it in then we would leave them with our name. We went back and asked if anyone had seen it and someone had found it! We were so happy. After that we were beat. It took a lot of energy out of us.
So we went and got mouse ear hats that say "Just Married" on them and headed over to Disneyland to get some pictures of things that we had missed yesterday. Then we headed back to our hotel room. That night we ate at The Cheesecake Factory. Neither one of us have eaten there so it was fun to try it out. Ryan usually does not like cheesecake, but he decided to try a new one they had for their 30 year anniversary. He ended up liking it! I was happy.
It was a great honeymoon and we did not want to come back.

One month already

It has already been over a month that Ryan and I have been married. It has gone by so fast. It is still crazy to me some days that he is my husband. We have known each other so long it is some times hard to believe. I decided that since it has been a month I should post some pictures. Ryan and I were married on September 22nd. We were married in San Diego at the North Island Air Station on the beach. Unfortunately we were not able to get married in the temple because we were waiting for my sealing cancellation to go through. We are looking forward to getting sealed to each other in September. Since we could not get married in the temple we got married on the beach, which is something I have always loved.
Ryan's dad lives in San Diego so we got married very close to his house. It was a beautiful day and everything went really well. It was really small, but perfect. Here are some pictures of that day.

6. Let your tagger know when your entry is UP.

Ashley tagged me last week and I have been so busy that I am just getting to it.

Here are some non-important things/habits/quirks about me.

1. I am an accountant and by the time I get off work my mind is fried. So most people think that since I am an accountant to ask me math questions (especially basic math questions). This is not true. I have been known to be way off and let me tell you it is not good. However, if you gave me a 10-key I would be spot on.

2. I tend to freak out over nothing. I really did not want to put this, but I have to be honest with myself. I asked Ryan what he thought I should put on this post and this was the FIRST thing he said. I was not going to put it, but then on Saturday we were working at the Halloween store and I put my purse behind the counter and when I got into my purse I noticed my wallet was missing. I instantly thought it was stolen. I asked my dad if he would go to our house and check the front seat of my car and our kitchen table. He looked and said it was not there. So at that point I just KNEW that it was stolen. Well when we got home that night we searched the house and then Ryan went outside to our deck where we ate lunch that day and sure enough it was sitting at the table that we ate lunch at. The sad thing is that this happens quite a bit. I am trying to work on it though. It is something I am not proud of.

3. I love the TV show "Friends". I can not get enough of it and I would watch it everyday if I could. It is my stress relief and a good laugh no matter what kind of mood I am in.

4. I am either cold or hot, usually cold. There is no middle ground with me. This might be the same with a lot of women, but all I know is it is not fun. Since I work in an office I am inside almost all of the summer. So it can be 100+ degrees outside, but I will be in a sweater. People from my work just know that I am weird and do not ask anymore. Luckily there is another girl who works here that has the same problem!

5. I tend to make sure that doors are locked more than two times. I lock the doors to my car over and over. Then after awhile I will go check again. I also check the house door two or three times. I will be laying in bed and wonder if I locked the doors and then get out of bed and check to see if it is locked. Sure enough it is!

6. I have an issue with my eyes. Anyone who has been around me for more than five minutes have probably heard about my issue. I do not know why, but they are super sensitive and they get red over the smallest things. It is something that I am very self-conscious of it. I thought that Lasik was going to take care of it, but it made it worse for a little bit. The doctors say it will get better, but I don't see it. I guess I will just have to give it time.

I tag Chelsea, Kathleen, Jackie, Heidi, Kenz, and Chelsie.

What a week!

I promise I will put up pictures as soon as I can. I know a lot of people have wanted to see wedding pictures. I will get them up asap. I PROMISE! I have a very good excuse for the lack of posts I have been doing. First off I got married. We had to plan everything and then we were gone for a week on our honeymoon. Second, Ryan's aunt is managing a Halloween store and we told her we could help her. So we work 8-9 hour days at our regular jobs and then go straight there for 4-5 hours. This happens every day but Wed, Thurs, and Sun. So on Wednesdays and Thursdays we are running around trying to do everything that gets neglected all week. Therefore, I have no time to get to the computer. Oh well it will all be over after Halloween.
This week has been quite a week for the Matthews. First off on Monday we found out that Ryan's car (it has been broken since before the wedding) was going to cost $750 to fix a little tiny screw. That is never fun to have an expense hit you like that. Then on Tuesday Ryan was working on a job and he broke his hand. So now he is limited in the amount he can work and he only has one hand while the other one is killing him. That same day the check engine light came on in my car. I almost lost it at that point. However, after we worked at the Halloween store that night the light turned off and it is ok now. (Cross your fingers!) Yesterday we found out there was some fraudulent activity on Ryan's credit card. Luckily we got that figured out after about 2 hours on the phone trying to get the charges off. So we are now walking on egg shells hoping nothing else will happen.
Even though all these trials are happening we are very happy that we have each other to lean on during it all. We are trying to look on the bright side of things and considering the circumstances I would have to say that we are still very positive.
